Golden Globe-nominated American actress Jones is jumping with rabbits.
January Jones will join Nicolas Cage in the vigilante thriller "The Hungry Rabbit Jumps," which is slated to begin shooting in early December.
The $30 million indie project centers on a man (Cage) who, after a crime is perpetrated on his wife (Jones), gets more than he bargained for when he enlists a vigilante group to help him settle the score.
"It's a very meaty role," producer James Stern of Endgame Entertainment said of Jones' role, "not just reactive, but active."
Roger Donaldson ("The Bank Job") is attached to direct.
Jones is best known for playing the seductive suburban housewife Betty Draper on "Mad Men." She has had small roles in features such as "We Are Marshall" and the upcoming "Pirate Radio," but never played a lead part.
The actress, who is gaining notoriety for a splashy spread in the current issue of GQ, will shoot another thriller, "Unknown White Male" after she completes "Hungry Rabbit."
